The Lineup

Three models built for volume

The B8200 Series is the monochrome workhorse of the AltaLink family. Same controller, same 10.1-inch interface and the same accessory family as the color C8200 Series, but engineered for offices that push tens of thousands of black-and-white pages a month and care about cost per page.

What Makes It Different

Monochrome volume without the monochrome compromises

Black-and-white used to mean stripped-down. The B8200 Series runs the same Xerox ConnectKey platform, the same AI apps and the same security stack as the color models. You give up color, not capability.

AI-assisted apps, preloaded

Xerox Auto-Redaction blacks out sensitive data before a document leaves the glass. Summarizer condenses long reports. Note Converter turns handwritten notes into editable text. All from the panel, no desktop software.

Security you can pass an audit with

256-bit AES encrypted SSD, TPM 2.0, TLS 1.3, FIPS 140-3 validation, 802.1X, IPsec, IP filtering, full audit log and firmware verification. Trellix whitelisting stops unauthorized code, and events feed into Splunk or your SIEM.

The lowest cost per page in the family

High-yield toner, long-life components and duty cycles up to 300,000 pages a month make the B8200 the cheapest way to move serious paper. For firms printing tens of thousands of pages, the per-page difference is the whole argument.

10.1-inch tablet interface

Swipe, pinch and tap like a phone. Users build one-touch shortcuts for the jobs they run every day, and the device learns common patterns to suggest them automatically.

Cloud and Microsoft 365 connectors

Scan straight into SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or Box. Xerox Workflow Central adds translation, redaction and conversion workflows across every device you own.

Finishing that ends the outsourcing

Multi-position stapling, 2/3-hole punch, saddle-stitched booklets up to 64 pages, and C/Z folding. Produce the deposition binder, the manual or the board packet in-house.

Questions

Xerox AltaLink B8200 Series FAQ

What is the difference between the AltaLink B8200 and the B8100 Series?
The B8200 Series is the current generation and replaces the B8145/B8155/B8170. It moves to a quad-core 1.91 GHz processor, 4 GB of memory, an encrypted 256 GB NVMe SSD instead of a hard drive, TLS 1.3 and FIPS 140-3 security, and a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen. It also ships with the AI-assisted apps (Auto-Redaction, Summarizer, Note Converter) that the B8100 Series did not have. Speeds are similar, so the upgrade case is usually about security posture, workflow apps and support lifecycle.
Xerox list pricing for base configurations runs roughly $12,300 for a B8245, $15,565 for a B8255 and $22,045 for a B8270, before finishers, trays and print servers. Almost nobody pays list. Most New Jersey businesses lease over 36 to 60 months with service, parts, toner and support bundled into a cost per page. We will price it both ways so you can compare. Request a quote and we will size it against your actual volume.
It comes down to what share of your volume is genuinely color. If under roughly 10 to 15 percent of your pages need color, a B8200 plus a smaller color device usually beats putting everything on a color MFP, because the monochrome click rate is a fraction of the color rate. If color is central to what you produce, go with the C8200 Series. Our assessment measures your actual color-to-mono split rather than guessing.
Match the model to monthly volume. Around 15,000 to 50,000 pages a month points to the B8245. From 20,000 to 75,000 points to the B8255. Above that, the B8270 gives you headroom plus the 250-sheet document feeder and 270 ipm duplex scanning. Heavy scanning operations often choose the B8270 even when print volume alone would not require it.
Yes. It handles up to 12 x 18 in./SRA3 from the trays and up to 12.6 x 52 in. banner stock from the bypass tray, on media from 16 lb. bond to 110 lb. cover.
It is built for it. The SSD is AES 256-bit encrypted, there is a TPM 2.0 chip, TLS 1.3 and FIPS 140-3 validated cryptography, 802.1X and IPsec network security, IP filtering, full audit logging and firmware verification. Trellix whitelisting blocks unauthorized code from running, and security events can be forwarded to Splunk or another SIEM. Xerox also ships three preset security templates so you do not have to hand-configure every setting. We help HIPAA-regulated and public-sector customers document these controls as part of installation.

We walk your offices, inventory every printing device including the ones nobody remembers buying, pull the meters, and calculate what you are really spending per page across hardware, supplies, service and staff time. Then we show you the gap between that and a right-sized fleet. It takes about an hour of your time, it costs nothing, and there is no obligation to buy anything. Start here.

We cover Morris, Essex, Bergen, Passaic, Union, Somerset, Hudson, Sussex, Warren and Hunterdon counties from our Randolph, NJ office. Our technicians are ADS employees, and response commitments are written into the service agreement. Call 973-970-9737 to confirm coverage for your address.

Find out what your printing actually costs

Before you spec a B8255 or a B8270, let us show you the real number. The assessment is free, it takes about an hour, and roughly nine out of ten businesses discover they are spending more than they thought.
