Production Print

The in-house print shop that kept calling an overseas help desk

“Bad equipment is survivable. Bad support is not. ADS sources our supplies next day and our rep picks up the phone, by name. That's the whole business.”

Production Manager
, In-house print & mail operation

A Morris County marketing operation runs its own production print shop: color-critical work, tight client deadlines, and a small crew doing the work of a much larger one. Their prior arrangement gave them a fast machine and an overseas help desk that didn’t know them from anyone else.

The problem

When you make a brand’s signature color every day, “we’ll ship that supply in a week” is a non-answer. The team was rationed to one toner order at a time, troubleshooting with a script-reading call center, and losing hours they didn’t have.

What we did

We matched them to production-grade Xerox color equipment and, just as important, put a single local rep on the account who knows their work and their deadlines. Supplies are on hand and delivered next day. Training happens in person on every new piece of equipment, and when our rep doesn’t know the answer, he finds the person who does.

The result

Color stays consistent, supplies show up before they run out, and the team gets a human who already knows the account when they call. The machines do impressive things, but the production manager talks about the support first.

“I can order what I actually need, when I need it,” she said. “After years of being told no, that alone changed everything.”
