The Lineup
Three families, one platform
Every 9-Series A3 machine shares the same quad-core controller, the same 10.1-inch panel, the same trays and the same finishers. You pick color or black-and-white, then the engine speed that matches your monthly volume. The one real fork is how much you scan, which is what separates the CX95 from the CX96.
CX95 Series
Color • 25 to 55 ppm
- Color, 25 to 55 ppm across four models
- 200-sheet single-pass duplex feeder
- The volume sweet spot for most NJ offices
CX96 Series
Color • 35 to 55 ppm
- Color, 35 to 55 ppm across three models
- 300-sheet feeder, 240 images per minute duplex
- Pick this over the CX95 if you scan stacks
MX95 Series
Black-and-white • 35 to 55 ppm
- Black-and-white, 35 or 55 ppm
- Same panel, trays and finishers as the color models
- Adds a 500-sheet internal staple finisher option

What Makes It Different
Versatile, simple, and built to last a full term
The 9-Series is Xerox’s current A3 office platform. Two things on this list are genuinely ahead of the field: the encryption and the consumable life.
Post-quantum encryption, shipping today
The 9-Series ships with post-quantum cryptography built on NIST-standardized algorithms. That is protection against harvest-now-decrypt-later attacks, where traffic captured today gets broken years from now. Most office equipment has not addressed this yet. Around it sits secure boot, firmware verification, encrypted storage, 802.1x, IPsec and certificate management.
Imaging units rated past 200,000 pages
225,000 pages on the black imaging unit and 250,000 on color, with toner cartridges rated in the 46,000 to 47,000 page range. Long-life consumables mean fewer service visits, fewer supply orders and fewer interruptions. It is also the single biggest lever on your cost per page over a five-year term.
More than half recycled plastic
Over 50% post-consumer recycled plastic in the chassis, packaging redesigned with 43% less plastic, and better than 10% shipping efficiency gains. The line carries ENERGY STAR, EPEAT Gold and Blue Angel. If you have a sustainability commitment to report against, this is the easiest equipment decision on the list.
Single-pass duplex scanning with multifeed detection
Up to 240 images per minute duplex on the CX96 Series, 200 on the CX95 and MX95. Multifeed detection catches the double feed instead of silently skipping a page. OCR produces searchable PDF, archival PDF/A, DOCX and RTF, and the platform will translate a scanned document into more than 100 languages.
Finishing that ends the outsourcing
A 1,250-sheet staple finisher, the same with hole punch, and a 2,250-sheet booklet staple hole punch finisher for saddle-stitched work. The MX95 Series adds a 500-sheet internal staple finisher for tighter spaces. Offset stacking is standard. Bind the board packet in-house instead of sending it out.
Managed from the Xerox fleet tools you already use
Xerox Cloud Fleet Management for visibility across the whole estate, Xerox Workplace Cloud and Workplace Suite for print management and secure release, Xerox Device Manager and Device Agent for the on-premise side. The devices are IoT-enabled, which is how we see a problem before you call us.

Who It Fits
Where the 9-Series earns its keep in New Jersey
We place these across six industries, and the reasons differ by vertical. Here is what customers usually buy them for.
Law firms
A 300-sheet feeder that clears a discovery box without babysitting, saddle-stitched closing binders from the booklet finisher, secure print release so nothing sits in the output tray, and audit logging for client confidentiality obligations.
Healthcare
Encrypted storage, badge-based release at the panel and scan workflows into the EMR. See our healthcare page for how we document controls at install.
Education
Tabloid color for curriculum materials, booklet finishing for program guides, per-department accounting, and 802.1x for campus networks.
Government & municipal
Post-quantum encryption and Common Criteria credentials for the security review, records retention scanning, agenda packet production, and cooperative purchasing contract availability.
Financial services
Encrypted storage, secure release printing, archival PDF/A output for retention, and color statements or proposals produced in-house rather than outsourced.
Manufacturing
Tabloid drawings and work instructions, 12 x 18 in. and SRA3 output, and stock to 300 gsm for tags and job travelers.

Questions
Xerox 9-Series FAQ
What is the Xerox 9-Series, and why do the model numbers say Lexmark?
The 9-Series is Xerox’s current A3 office line, and it runs on Lexmark engines. Xerox acquired Lexmark, and the two line cards were merged, so these machines carry Lexmark model numbers (CX953, CX963, MX953) while being sold, supported and warranted as Xerox 9-Series devices. Xerox hosts the spec sheets and the security guide, Xerox Cloud Fleet Management runs the fleet, and we order parts, supplies and service through Xerox. We would rather you hear that from us than work it out from a search result. In practice it changes nothing about who you call when a machine goes down, which is still us.
How much does a Xerox 9-Series cost?
There is no useful list price answer, because almost nobody buys one of these outright at list. Most New Jersey businesses lease over 36 to 60 months with service, parts, toner and support bundled into a cost per page. What actually moves the monthly number is your volume, your color mix, the finisher you need and the term. We will quote it both ways, purchase and lease, so you can compare. Request a quote and we will size it against your actual meters. And to be clear about ours: the payment does not go up automatically every year.
Which model should I choose?
Start with monthly volume, then decide how much you scan. Under about 20,000 pages a month points to the CX950 or CX951. Above that, the CX952 and CX953 carry the volume. The CX96 Series is the same platform with a 300-sheet feeder instead of 200 and 240 images per minute instead of 200, so it is the right call if people in your office feed stacks rather than single pages. If color is not the point, the MX951 and MX953 give you the same chassis and finishers at a lower running cost. And if you never print tabloid, say so, because an A4 device will cost you less than any of these and we will quote that instead.
What paper sizes and stocks does it handle?
These are true A3 devices. They run up to 12 x 18 in. and SRA3, plus ledger, legal, letter, statement, executive, folio, oficio, JIS-B4 and a full range of envelopes. Paper weights go from 16 lb. bond to 80 lb. bond, which is 60 to 300 gsm, so cover stock and cardstock run from the standard trays rather than needing a workaround. Standard capacity is 700 sheets across a 550-sheet tray and a 150-sheet multipurpose feeder, and you can build it out to 4,750 sheets.
Is it secure enough for healthcare, legal and government use?
It is ahead of most of the field on one point worth knowing about. The 9-Series ships with post-quantum cryptography using NIST-standardized algorithms, which is protection against the harvest-now-decrypt-later problem that most office equipment has not addressed yet. Around that sits the usual set: secure boot and firmware verification, encrypted storage with full disk wipe, 802.1x authentication, IPsec, certificate management, SSL cipher configuration, TCP and UDP port access control, security port lockdown, and HTTPS, LDAPS and SMTPS for management traffic. The platform carries Common Criteria, FIPS 140-3, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 credentials. We help HIPAA-regulated and public-sector customers document these controls as part of installation.
Can it scan directly into SharePoint or a document management system?
Yes. Scan destinations include email, FTP, USB flash drive and a USB or network connected computer, and the device scans into cloud storage systems directly. Output formats include searchable PDF with OCR, archival PDF/A-1a and A-1b, secure PDF, DOCX, RTF, TXT, TIFF and JPEG, so what lands in the repository is indexed text rather than a picture of a page. The platform will also translate scanned documents into more than 100 languages. We configure the connectors and the scan presets during installation so users press one button.
What does the free assessment actually involve?
We walk your offices, inventory every printing device including the ones nobody remembers buying, pull the meters, and calculate what you are really spending per page across hardware, supplies, service and staff time. Then we show you the gap between that and a right-sized fleet. It takes about an hour of your time, it costs nothing, and there is no obligation to buy anything. Start here.
Do you service the Xerox 9-Series in my area?
We cover Morris, Essex, Bergen, Passaic, Union, Somerset, Hudson, Sussex, Warren and Hunterdon counties from our Randolph, NJ office. Our technicians are ADS employees, and response commitments are written into the service agreement. Call 973-970-9737 to confirm coverage for your address.
